After getting dressed I headed down to the ballroom. I wanted to check on the ballroom to make sure that everything looked good. I walked in and saw a couple of house elves straightening some things out. Soon the dance would start, music was already playing and food was set out on the tables to the right of the entrance. I walked to the front of the ballroom a took a seat at the head table that was for staff only.

Amy walked in silently into the ballroom, attending her first dance ever. She was dressed in a pink slimming dress that reached her knees, and silver high heels. Her hair was down and her bangs was covering over her silver mask. She felt kind of silly being the first one there, and not having a date. She sighed over to the punch table and grabbed herself some punch. If I'm lucky maybe I'll steal a dance with someone. She thought to herself. She sipped her punch and leaned lightly against the table.
She looked at her dress and at the ballroom, she didn't feel like she fitted in here, but this is the dress and mask her mother wore on her Valentine night. The only thing that was missing was Amy's date. Amy didn't mind not having a date though, it would have been nice, but it was something that didn't eat away at her. She set her drink down to fix the imperfections in her hair and dress. Even though she had no date to look good for, she will look good for that someone she wants to have a dance with.

Jay stood outside the ballroom in his black and white suit. He was waiting for Siva, he promised her the first dance. He felt weird standing there with a mask that covered the right half of his face. He was sure this dance would be interesting since it was the first masquerade that he would attend.

Laila passed through the ballroom doors and noticed how there was hardly anyone there. She spotted someone who she thought might be Amy and headed in her direction.
Laila had straightened her hair for the special occaision and was wearing it in a pony tail on the left side of her head. Her eyes were masked by a black mask with the tiniest hint of glitter and she wore a blood red dress than came down to an inch and a half below her knees. She wore a pair of black heels and fishnet tights. As she passed through the ballroom she wondered whether wearing the tights was a good idea.

Siva stood in front of the mirror in her dormitory, she had finally finished getting dressed. She had grown nervous about the dance tonight, she had promised a dance with Jay and Seth. She was friends with both and she knew that they didn't like each other.
She made her way down to the dance very carefully. She wasn't the type a girl that would wear a dress or heels, she wore both tonight. As she got closer to the ballroom she noticed a guy standing outside of the room. "Jay?"

Amy gave a hint of a smile. She knew that she would probably be one of the girls on the sidelines that would never get a dance, but that didn't matter to her, she was more interested in the dates and the love in the air. [/font]
Amy noticed a familiar Ravenclaw face that was coming towards her. She gave a gentle smile as saying "hi" and was hoping that maybe she would make another friend of her house. She pushed some of her curled hair in front of her. It took her a while to curl it, considering that it was just bluntly straight. Her bangs whisked against the slits in her mask of where the eyes would see. Her gold sparkle mask covered just her eyes, and to her, she felt like she was the Lone Ranger in the older movies. She sighed and took another sip of her punch. [/font]

Eliana stood in the hall outside of the ballroom, looking the mirror to straighten her appearance. She was dressed in an elegant off-white gown, and wearing a matching mask which concealed the top part of her face completely but for her eyes. He bangs were swept across her brown and tucked into place with the help of the mask, and her soft blond hair was slightly curled and left draped down her back. As usual, she looked much older then her age. She stepped slowly into the ballroom, the golden flames of her eyes glowing brightly in the slightly dim light of the room. She was hoping that someone would notice her and ask her to dance, but she didn't know many people yet so far.

"Siva....you look great." he said with a small smile. He walked up to her and held his hand out. "Well, shall we?" |

She knew that it was pointless to go to the dance since there was no other professors to dance or even chat with but still she made an appearance. She walking into the ballroom with a light blue gown and silver mask on. She walked over to the staff table were she saw the Headmistress sitting, "Good evening." she said with a nod has she took a seat next to her.

"Hey Amy." Laila said when she reached the female Ravenclaw. "Small crowd," Laila said, nodding at the almost empty room.
I wonder if I'll get to dance with anyone.
Laila still hadn't mastered this 'making friends' thing, but still hoped for a dance or two tonight. She didn't mind not having a date as she could rarely find a guy she liked, but she did have her eye on a certain someone she had met earlier.

Siva smiled at Jay's comment. "Thanks, you don't look have bad yourself." she joked. Siva took his hand and walked with him into the ballroom. Siva was really excited about the dance, she thought that the masquerade was a good idea.
She looked around the room to see if Seth had arrived yet. She wasn't expecting that he would show up a later. She did notice a group of girls that she had seen in her Herbology class. "What shall we do first?"

I noticed the students coming into the ballroom and couldn't help but smile. I thought this ball was a great I idea and could only hope the others did has well. She noticed that Professor Sara had dressed up and came to the dance has well. "Good evening, professor." I replied has I watched her take a seat next to me. "What brings you out this evening?" I asked trying to make conversation.

Ruby had just gotten down the steps when she saw Jay. She hardly knew him yet she liked him. She wanted to speak to him but he was with his friend Siva. She watched has they walked into the ballroom together. With a sigh she walked in a few steps behind them. She wished that she was in Siva's shoes. She took a seat at a table her eye fixed on the two, she didn't bother looking around the room.

Sean walked toward the ballroom in his dads old uniform when he was in Hogwarts Bellatrix. A tuxedo with black pants and a tie with a black and white mask showing his eyes. He thought he was not going to dance but he hoped he would because this would be his first dance in his life. He only thought he would drink punch and see everybody there dance while he was drinking punch at the table. He hadn't noticed when he had gotten there but he did exactly what he thought he would. He took a cup of punch and stood at the table. He looked around. There were lots of girls around he could ask but the only ones that were dancing were Jay and Siva.

(( Since this is a dance for the students you can chose the music! Just don't change the song too soon, wait about 3 to 4 post then you can change. The music can be anything but, please try to keep it clean. Enjoy!))
