After a brief lunch and reading it was time for his next class. Making his way to the dungeons he was carrying his second cup of coffee for the day into the empty classroom. The lights flickered on as he made he way across the room. Taking his last sip he finished his drink before setting the mug down on the desk. Sighing he began to gather the supplies for the lesson and put them on the table in the front. He knew that he could have used magic but he liked the task of getting it himself. It also kept his mind fresh with what potion they were going to make. Finishing up he straighten the table up making sure all the ingredients were lined up then went and took a seat at his desk. Pulling a folder out of his desk he began to grade those reviews that each of the students had completed fro the last class.

Returning a book to the shelf Jordan checked his watch. He had to get to potions in 15 minutes. Leaving the library he made his way down the stair case going toward the dungeons. With the big break between classes he enjoyed being able to take his time but it would have been nice to only have one morning class then the rest oft he day to yourself. Reaching the sub level he found the potions classroom door open and the professor organizing away. Taking a seat in the middle he looked at the table of ingredients and wondered what they would be making. Hopefully nothing that involve blood. He got a little squeamish around blood.

The only reason Seth seemed interested in this class was because he thought it was important in the future. Whether he went into a job field that involved potions or not he thought it was crucial in the wizards life. Making his way from the dormitory to the class he found that he wasn't;t the first to arrive. Taking a seat a couple of row behind the guy he got out his potions book and began to refresh his memory of ll the past potions that they had completed.

Isis decided to skip lunch for today. Its not that she didn't have time she just didn't like to eat before potions class. The ingredients tend to make her a little squeamish. Having to work around blood and various animal parts made her a little sick to the stomach every now and then. Reaching the dungeons she made a right down the hall before she saw the classroom door wide open. Walking in she saw Jordan and some other guy. Taking a seat at the work station next to Jordan she got her things out quietly trying not to think about the things they might have to work with today. If she didn't think about it so much she would be fine.

Grabbing her potions book she stuffed it in her bag then made her way out of the common room to her next class. She had been a little bummed out lately and she was trying to not let it keep her down. After that talk with Jay she had a lit on her mind. Reaching the dungeon she did have another memory come to mind and she smiled just as she reached the class room. Scanning the room she saw Seth going over the potions book. "Hey." she said approaching the table next to his work station. Setting her bag down on the counter she got out her things and took a seat.

Jay wasn't too far behind Siva. To be honest he was a little speechless. Turning the corner he found the door to the classroom open and walked in. Seeing Siva seated next to Seth he went and sat the the work space behind Jordan and a gryffindor. Getting his things out he kept going over the conversation that they just had. At the moment he was wishing that for once he had been honest with Siva. For the moment all jay could do was brush off the feel he had and move on.

James got lost in the moment when he realized that they were 10 minutes into the class period. Setting his quill down he looked up at the classroom that was now full with talking students. Standing up he walked around and stood next to the table that had the ingredients laid out. "Welcome students. Hope you have had a good time chatting but, no it is time to start." he smiled looking over the class. Ten points to Ravenclaw for being the first here. Now, who can tell me about the potion Afflicti Opthma?" He knew that it wasn't a traditional potion but hoped that someone might have heard of it.

Siva looked around the room for a moment before noticing that Jay was sitting with Jordan. She smiled toward him before turning away. She just didn't want Jay to hate her. Turning her attention to the professor she raised her hand before answering his question. "It is a potion that is used to test if an item has been cursed." She hoped that was the right answer or else she just looked stupid.

That is correct Siva. Today we will be making this potion. Your ingredients are on the table here at the front. Once you are done please place a sample of the potion in a vial and label it for me. After that you are dismissed. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Turning to the board that was behind his desk he retrieved his wand and tapped the board. Soon words appeared and the students now had the instructions. Heat cauldron until it is hot to the touch.
Slowly add water from the buckets, spilling it out as though it is pouring from a waterfall.
Bring water to a boil.
Crack the dragon's egg and separate out the yolk.
Pour yolk into the cauldron.
Stir until is distributed evenly through the water.
Add the bat's eyes a pair at a time.
Remove from fire and let sit for 13 minutes. [/b][/color]

Lighting a fire under her cauldron Isis got started on her potion. While she let it heat up she grabbed her ingredients from the front and sat them out around her closed book. Organizing them in order of what goes first. Taking the bucket of water she slowly poured in the water and waited for it to boil. While the water began to come to a boil she cracked the dragon egg open into a bowl. Taking a spoon she scooped out the yolk. Once the water was boiling she added the yolk to the cauldron then stirred it until it was evenly distributed. Isis struggled next with the bat's eyes. "Gross." she whispered to herself. Grabbing a pair she added them to the cauldron and tried not to watch them melt away. She looked away for a moment covering her mouth with her free hand. Thankful that she hadn't eaten. Once she added all the bats eyes she removed the cauldron from the fire and let it rest for 13 minutes. She used the time to clean up and prepare a vial with her name on it. Once the time had passed she scooped out a sample and left it with the professor. After cleaning out her cauldron she was done for the day and took her leave. She would never forget this lesson. "Bat's eyes." she muttered to her self shaking her head as she walked out the door.

Jordan got started on the potion for the day by lighting a fire under his cauldron before retrieving the ingredients from the front. So many buckets of water to carry he had to make sure that he carried them carefully across the room. Once he had all of his things he began pouring the buckets of water into the hot cauldron. Now he waited for the water to boil. The next part was the difficult one for him. He had to carefully crack open a dragon egg and separate the yolk. This took some focusing on his part. Once he had just the yolk he added it to the now boiling water that was in the cauldron. Stirring the unfinished potion he watched to see the yolk mix in the water then he added the first set of bat's eyes. He waited for a moment before adding the second pair. He then removed the cauldron and let the potion cool while he cleaned his desk. Jordan prepared his vial for the professor and carefully poured the potion in the vial. He left his vial with the professor while he finished cleaning up before leaving.

"Hey." he smiled responding. He was glad she sat next to him. Unfortunately they didn't have time to talk. Straight to work. Seth read over the ingredients and steps for today's potion and it all seemed like an easy one. While his cauldron heated up he gathered the buckets of water, bat's eyes, and dragon egg from the front. Once the cauldron was heated he slowly poured the buckets of water in. Then waited for the water to boil. Once it was boiling he cracked open the dragon egg and separated the yolk and added it to the cauldron. He stirred his potion until the yolk was mixed in. Then came the bat eyes a pair at a time. And now it was almost ready. He took the cauldron off the fire and let it cool. He cleaned up his area while he waited then bottled the potion and labeled it for the professor. Seth cleaned up his desk and looked over to see if Siva was almost done. He figured she was close so he decided to wait for her.
