Finally the weekend was here! First weekend here and Isis was going to tackle something on her to do list. She was going to fly. Yes, she took and passed flying class but, she hated every minute of it. And she wanted to get better at it. Dressed in comfortable clothes she made her way to the shed near the quiditch pitch. She wore dark blue denim, a light blue shirt and some old sneakers. Looking around the grounds she wanted to make sure she was the only one around. No need in embarrassing herself today. Opening the door to the shed she looked for the pile of old brooms used for practice for first years. Picking one out that didn't look too used she walked out onto the fields. There was a slight breeze out today but other than that the day was perfect for flying. The sun shined over the massive field and left some shadow over half of the field and stands. It was around 10, maybe 10:30 in the morning. She was sure to get some good practice in before the hardcore fans of flying came out to judge her. Placing the broom on the ground she held her hand out over the broom. "Up!" she stated firmly. The broom raised to her hand and she grabbed a hold of it. Good, she thought. Placing her hands over the top part of the broom and wrapped her legs around the end. Taking in a deep breath she kicked off. She was a little shaky at first but she continued to rise up in the air determined to fly. Just don't look down, she thought.

Flying. One of Jay's favorite things to do on the weekend. It helped him clear his mind. It had been a while since he took a good fly around the pitch and today was a good day. It was sunny but not too bright and the wind was nice and steady. After a small breakfast Jay headed down to the field. He was hoping that he would be alone. He hated it when there was a ton of people flying around. Going to the shed for the hufflepuff's he retrieved his broom. It was a fire bolt in decent condition. Man, he wished that quiditch was around. Maybe sometime in the future, hopefully. Walking around to opening of the field jay closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He heard nothing. Opening his eyes he looked around seeing the that there was only one other person here. Well, it was better than a field full of first years. She was already up int he air just hovering. He decided to wait to see what she was up to.

slowly rising Isis was trying to stay focus. Her vision stayed focus in front to keep herself from looking down. Once she was level with the goal post she took a deep breath. Leaning forward she slowly started to go forward. Coming to a stop she remind herself that she was doing fine. Leaning forward again she started to fly around the pitch. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail so that it wouldn't get in the way. The cool air felt great on her face as she started on her second round. Slowing up she started to focus on her breathing. She didn't even realize that she was holding her breath. She tended to do that when she was really nervous. Floating around the entrance she came in she decided to look around. She scanned the stands that were still empty but something caught her attention in the corner of her eyes. She could see the small figure and then she realized that how far off of the ground she was. Gasping she griped the broom and closed her eyes. Taking a deep breath she tried to forget what she saw but now she didn't want to move. And it didn't help that she was so far up in the air.

Jay waited for a moment to figure out just what this person was up to. And he was also bummed out that there was already someone here. He liked for it to be just him and the open field. At least it was just one other person. Judging by the way they were flying the hadn't been doing for long. Possibly a first year, he thought. They weren't going too fast which was good. He hated it when people would fly by just to show off. Now for what he came for. Once he he made his way to more of the center of the field he straddled his broom and kicked off. Rising slowly he looked around to see where this person was flying at the moment. He was trying not to startle this person, especially if they were trying to concentrate. Locating the person he noticed that they had stalled in the air. Flying over to them he soon noticed that it was a girl. Clearing his throat he wanted to let her know that he was near. "You ok?" From the look of it she was very nervous. Maybe she was getting sick?

Don't panic! Don't panic! Isis peeked out of one eye to see something coming at her. Closing her eyes she was focusing on staying in the air and not falling off her broom. "Just breath. Inhale. Exhale" she whispered to herself keeping her eyes closed. Next thing she knew someone spoke to her. Keeping her head up she opened her eyes to look around. She saw another guy on his broom near her. "I'm fine." she squeaked. Clearing her throat she was trying her best to swallow the lump in her throat. "I'm fine." she said a little more firmly. Slowly lowering herself on her broom she couldn't wait to be on land again. Once she got there she took a seat and tried to calm herself.

Jay watched as she stayed a float trying not to look down. Must have been her first time flying he guessed. "O..K." he replied when she insisted that she was fine. Slowly she lowered herself until she was on the ground. Moving on with his routine he wanted to get some laps in before more students showed up. Taking of he circled that outside the hoops, steady but quick. After that he wanted to challenge himself by weaving around the goals. Once he weaved around one set he flew to the other side and weaved around them before going back to the other set. After his third round he found himself a little out of breath. He had a hard time controlling his breathing during flying. Sometimes he just held his breath for a little while. He lowered slowly to the ground taking deep breaths he touched down and started walking toward the other girl who was still sitting on the ground. "Hey." he said approaching her trying to not sound so out of breath. "You ok?" he asked taking a seat next to her.

Why did people enjoy flying? Isis knew that it was likely that she would never figure this out. Once on the ground she was still a little shaky but doing better. She watched this guy circle the pitch. He was really good, well compared to her that is. He seemed very comfortable up there flying around. taking a deep breath she closed her eyes as the wind blew through her hair. She was going to get through this, she was in gryffindor after all! Opening her eyes she saw that the guy had landed near her and was walking over. She stared at him and soon realized that this was a guy she had seen in her classes. "I'm fine. Just rattled. Don't fly often." she admitted. "You seemed comfortable up there. How do you do it?"

Jay was still a little breathless so he took a seat next to the girl. " i don't know. Just like the feeling." he admitted. Looking at her he could tell that she was really shaken up by the brief flying session. But he had to give her credit, she was at lease trying to get over her fear. "I just love the freedom of flying high in the air with nothing around. Gives me time to think." Jay took a deep breath of fresh air and looked around. "And it is the perfect day to fly. Just take your time. You don't have to rush it. It is not a quidditch match." he smiled. "Want to try again?" he asked. Jay stood up and held his hand out. Either way he was going to fly again.

Isis looked at Jay while he explained what he liked about flying. She actually didn't expect him to say that it was for the thrill of flying. Figured he would go on and on about quidditch. She smiled a little at his good advice before looking up at him with his hand stretched out. Grabbing his hand she lifted off of the ground. He was right, there was no pressure. This wasn't quidditch, just a joy ride. Nice slow paced joy ride around the pitch. "I will try this one last time." she agreed. Grabbing her broom she mounted it then took a deep breath. When she was ready she would kick off.
