Early mornings were to worst. Sara wasn't much of a morning person but she would get used to it eventually. Another year, another term to get used to her teaching schedule. Heading up the stairs she had some notebooks in one hand and a coffee in the other. Quickly walking down the hall she turned to the door to her class. Muttering a spell the door flew open. Looking at the lights overhead she stopped to concentrate before the light finally came on. She was getting better. Practice makes perfect! Making her way to the front she sat her coffee and things down on her desk. Looking the room over everything was set for her students to come in and sit. Leaving the room she just needed a moment to check the practice room. Walking over she made sure that the lanes were ready. Seeing everything set she made her way back to the classroom and sat at her desk. Taking a sip from her coffee she opened one of her notebooks to go over the list of reminders that she had written the night before.

Mornings weren't her favorite but she did happen to get a good nights sleep despite being excited. She was happy to be back at Hogwarts. Over the break she had missed this place and couldn't wait to walk around. With her luck the only class she had was in the morning directly after breakfast. Sighing to herself Isis walked in the room taking notice to the professor reading something. Taking a seat in the second row she got out her book and began to skim through the book.

The only motivation that Jordan had every morning was breakfast. It was his favorite meal of the day. It just sucked that he had to be awake at this hour. Grabbing a piece of toast he made his way to the seventh floor for his first defense against the dark arts class for the term. The only thing he hated was the trip up the stairs. Every time he started on the steps or was almost to his class the stairs changed. This time was going to be different. He was determined not to get fooled. Halfway up the steps to the sixth floor he just knew when the steps would change. Making a mad dash he rushed and made it with a little trip as the steps began to move. "Whew!" he exhaled and walked down the hall. Turning into the room Jordan saw that there was only one other person in the room besides the professor. He meet her once so he sat at the next table over. "Hey." he greeted her before he realized that he didn't remember her name.

having got up late Seth was in a rush. Defense against the dark arts was one of his favorites classes and he didn't want to risk being late. Throwing on his uniform he rushed down the hall to the room only to find a couple of people seated in there. He looked around the room but he didn't find whom he was looking for. Taking a seat in the front row he got his things out wondering about Siva. last he saw her was at the yule ball. He asked her out, she said yes, and now they were in limbo. He wanted to talk to her and all he had to do was find her.

Mornings. Sucks. Jay was sure everyone felt this way. Making his way to the class he tried to straighten his tie to make it look like he some what cared about class this morning. The fist class was always the hardest. Arriving to the room with a small amount of students so far he took a seat behind Jordan. He hadn't spoken to him since last term. Well, after the maze really. "Hey Jordan." he greeted before taking a seat behind him. He looked around wondering where Siva was. They hadn't spoken much lately and he knew why. That stupid ball. Why did Siva have to go and make friends? He was ok with Jordan but there was something about the guy from the ball that he didn't like. He couldn't understand why at the moment but he just didn't trust him. He hoped that it was the last Siva would be seeing of him.

Finishing her last sip of coffee Sara looked at the room full of students chatting among themselves. Clearly her throat she stood up and walked around her desk. "Welcome back to Hogwarts. Hope everyone had a good break. Everyone needs to clean their desk off because it is time for review. All you will need is a quill." Turning around she grabbed a stack of papers then faced her class. Once everyone was ready she continues, "And by review I mean pop quiz. This is just a little chance to seal in some extra house points before we start the term." Walking to the first row she started handing out the quizzes. While she walked around she continued. "You will have ten minutes to complete. Please bring them up to my desk when you are done." she instructed. "You may begin."

Siva tip toed into to class right when the professor started the class. Taking a seat next to Jay she got out a quill. She was excited about the quiz but she was sure that she would do ok. Taking the quiz she started to fill it out when she had a thought. Looking up she saw the back of Seth's head. A smile cam across her lips has she thought about the yule ball. Finishing up she made sure that she had written her name at the top, then went to hand in her quiz.

Sara watched has all the students began their quiz. She began to let her mind wonder off and think about the past couple of days of peace. Not it was all ruined thanks to these stupid kids. Kidding! She liked to teach and her students weren't so bad. Well, maybe the first years were a little awful but, they would soon learn not to test her. Collecting the quizzes one by one she filed in a way on her desk in a folder and turned back to the students. "Ok, lets get started!" she smiled. "Today we will be doing some practice in the room across the hall but, first can anyone tell me what the incantation Bombarda does?"

Isis sighed to herself wishing she had actually gotten some sleep last night. She was just gonna have to make it though this class, then she could take a nap in between classes! She perked up when she heard a guy say hello. "Hey." she replied. She remembered him from the last term here at Hogwarts. The room that they stumbled a upon was cool find. Not too many people knew it existed so it was almost always empty. Now if she could remember his name. She had a guess but didn't want to embarrass herself. She would have to wait since class finally started. Taking the quiz he felt that she filled it out with ease. Hopefully she got most of them right. And now she had learned that they would have an interactive class. She wasn't the best at spell casting at the moment so this part always made her nervous. Raising her hand she answered, "That's the incantation for the blasting things."

Looking to the gryffindor that rose their hand she nodded and waited for her to speak. "That is correct. 10 points." she smiled at the student. "Today we will be practicing the blasting curse in the practice room. If you will all follow me. Don't forget your wand." Sara walked to the back of the classroom and waited for all of her students to go across the hall. Once they were all out of the room she followed them to the practice room. The room was big and had rows of lanes that kind of looked like a muggle bowling lanes. At the end of each lane was an old wooden door. "You should know the drill by now but, I will refresh your minds. Each person needs to pick a lane to practice in. When ready you cross the line in order to practice your spell. There is nothing behind these doors so you don't need to worry. The goal is to simple get the door to burst open. Once you have completed this task you are free to leave. If you wish to practice more simple re-cross the line and the lane will reset itself." Sara scanned the student's faces to make sure that they all understood. "You may begin."

Isis smiled when she was told that she got the question right. Good for her and she earned some points. Grabbing her wand she walked across the hall with the class she picked a lane that was away from the front but not in the back. She didn't really like practicing in front of others but she needed to get over it. She stood at the start gripping her wand. Stepping across she rose her wand and flicked it toward the door, "Bombarda." And nothing happened. Forcefully exhaling she tried again and again. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes and tried to imagine a scenario where she need to bust down that door. Then she imagined the door bursting open. Focusing a little more she squared off with the door. playing the image of the door busting. "Bombarda!" she said firmly. Next thing she knew the door flew open. Smiling a her work she crossed the line. Looking back she saw that the lane did indeed reset. Not wanting to practice anymore she left looking at the others give it a try, not that she was judging them. Grabbing her bag in the classroom she left heading for the common room.

Jay handed in his quiz then sat in silence next to Siva. He had so many questions a the moment but it was all going to have to wait. Looking at the professor he only heard half of what she said before having to grab his wand before walking over to the practice room. At least it wouldn't be a boring lecture today. Picking a lane in the front he looked at the door focusing. With the objective of the spell on loop in his mind he stepped over the line. Flicking his wand at the door he firmly said, "Bombarda!" He saw a little flicker come form his wand but it did die before it got to the door. Clearing his throat he focused on the door knob, "Bombarda!" he yelled. Watching the big white light shoot from his wand he saw the knob blast off before the door busted open. Happy with his work he saw Siva wasn't done yet. Deciding to catch up with her later he left for the classroom then the common room.

Jordan handed in his quiz then sat in silence. Looking around he saw Siva and Jay and smiled their way. He enjoyed the maze even though it was pretty scary half of the time. Turning his attention to the professor he raised his hand to answer but was beat by the gryffindor girl. Grabbing his wand he made his way over with the rest of the class. Picking a lane next to the gryffindor he tried to focus. The practical use of spells was a little hard for him. When were they gonna need to bust through a door anyway? Stepping over the line he stood facing the door wand in hand. Pointing the wand at the door he tried to focus. Flicking his wand he firmly said the incantation. "Bombarda! Bombarda!" What the heck was wrong with him. e found it weird that he could perform a spell in the maze but not in class? Gripping his wand he flicked his wand determined to get this right. "Bombarda!" When the burst of light hit the door it busted open and a smile came to his face. He stood there admiring his work before leaving.

Once he received his quiz he quickly filled it out then handed it in. Since there was a little time he looked around the room to find Siva. Finding her next to her friend he turned his attention to the professor when she spoke. He was glad to hear that they would be practicing a spell today. Grabbing his wand he walked over to the practice room and choose a lane that was near the front. Listening to the instructions he nodded and looked down his lane. He focused on the door for a moment before stepping forward. Crossing the line he kept his eyes on the door knob. He kept imagining the door busting open before he was ready. Gripping his wand he flicked it at the door and firmly spoke, 'Bombarda!' Next thing he knew the door was bursting open and his mission was complete. Stepping back he watched the lane reset before he practiced one more time for good measure. The second time he got a little distracted but, found the door busting open on the second try. Satisfied he left the room for his things before making his way to the great hall. Maybe there would still be some breakfast left out.
