It was time for another Hogwarts ball! The term had been going great and Aurora was actually excited for the Yule Ball. She liked this one since it was formal and she knew the other girls liked to dress up. Well the hour had finally arrived and Aurora was headed for the great hall. For tonight the hall was in a different layout. Instead of four big tables the back end of the hall was nothing but round tables that were decorate in white, blue, and silver. To the left was big long table that had all the food for the night on it. It was mostly finger foods. The front of the room was a big dance floor for all the students to dance in that space.
Checking over the room Aurora was pleased with the decorations and was ready to get the dance started. There was some light music playing until more people arrived. Sighing she made her way to the front for one last inspection before the place got too crowded. Already there were some students filing in. Dressing in a simple dark blue evening gown Aurora examined the floor and soon was drifting out into her own memories of Hogwarts and the dancing she attended. Snapping out of it she headed to the food table for some punch.

Siva was really excited for the night. This was her first dance and she was determined to have fun! Dressed in a floor length dark pink dress she checked herself over in the mirror before slipping on her silver shoes. The shoes made her a little taller with the couple of inches on it. Around her neck was a unicorn necklace and her earrings were rainbows. Grinning very wide she left her dormitory of chatty hufflepuff girls and made her way to the great hall. She didn't have a date like some girls but she made Jay promise that he would save her a dance. Walking through the entrance she was mesmerized with the decorations and stood off to the side while she looked off.

Jay didn't really want to go to the dance but he did promise his best friend a dance. Dressed in a black suit he looked formal from head to toe except for the fact that he didn't have a tie on. Straightening his jacket he checked himself over in the mirror one last time before he left for the great hall. Exiting the common room he looked around for Siva but he knew he wouldn't find her in there. She would be at the great hall. She was always better at being on time. Dodging the huge crowds Jay soon found himself in the great hall. The place looked good and he was actually feeling good about the night.
Looking around he soon found Siva starring off with the biggest smile on her face. Jay stooped and watched her for a while. She was stunning and looked completely different. Walking over he stood next to her before speaking. "Hey Siva. You look great!" he smiled.

He honestly didn't know why he was here. Here Jordan was dressed in a black suit with no date. He didn't ask anyone because he didn't know anyone. Walking in he looked around feeling even more out of place when he saw all the couples walking in together and taking seats with their other friends and their dates. Sighing to himself he walked over the the snacks table and got a cup of punch. Walking over to the wall he decided it was best to stay out of every ones way and hang close to the wall and observe until boredom got the best of him. Then he would call it quits.

Siva was off in her own world day dreaming about the night until she heard someone speak. Looking she saw Jay all dressed up. Looking him up and down she knew that he must hate this and yet here he was. "Oh. Thanks." she blushed. "You look handsome yourself." she smiled back at him. Then the music started and Siva was thrilled. She loved to dance! And it was a fast song too! "Wanna dance? You did promise!" she reminded him.

Jay looked sown at Siva has she smiled back at him and paid him a compliment. "Thanks." Hearing the music cue up the dance had officially begun. And has soon has it started he knew Siva was going to get excited and start dancing. Sure enough Siva turned right on the spot and asked him. "Uhh.." he was stalling but he knew that she wouldn't take no for an answer.

Siva could practically jump with excitement! She knew Jay would hesitate but she wasn't backing down. Grabbing his arm she dragged his scrawny butt to the floor!  "Come on! You promised!" Siva yelled over the music. Soon she reached to floor ready to dance and have a night of fun! Once they were in the middle of the dance floor she began to dance with him whether he joined in or not she was going to dance and enjoy the night. Its not every year that a dance comes along and she wanted to take advantage of the free time they would have in school. |

Seth didn't have any formal plans for the evening but he showed up anyway. Dressed in black formal attire he made his way to this yule ball. He wasn't the least bit excited but something did intrigue him. He was hoping a certain someone would be there sans a date. Walking into the great hall he looked around at the deck out hall and shrugged at it. making his way to the punch bowl he looked around not seeing the person that he had in mind just yet.

Jay knew Siva well and he knew that he didn't stand a chance. Next thing he knew he was dragged onto the floor. He could feel his face get red has he looked around to see if anyone saw the commotion she made. Luckily everyone was into their own dates to not see what just happen. Now he as on the dance floor standing completely still has Siva danced at him. He wasn't very good at dancing so waited to get the rhythm first before busting out a move.

This place sucked. Seth wasn't found of crowds but he did have a plan for the night. Moving around he checked out the crowd around the dance floor. He wasn't expecting this person to be on the dance floor and he was wrong. With his eye on Siva he was thinking of what to do. Throwing away his empty cup he made his way to the floor attempting to join in but, the music had come to an end. Hopefully she didn't see that awkward moment of trying to blend in. Approaching her back he came up on her right after some of the people started to break up. "Hey Siva!" Facing her he could only think of the last time they were in the woods. "Would you like to dance?" And he asked just in time for a slow tune.

Siva was having a fantastic time! She didn't think that she would have this much fun and she was very happy when Jay finally let loose. Soon the song ended and she was going to take a break but she heard her name and turned to see Seth. "Hey!" she replied. What she didn't expect was to be asked to dance. "Uh, yeah!" she looked between Seth and Jay. This was a little awkward. She didn't want to make Jay feel like she was ditching him. Hearing the tune of the slow song starting she turned a little red but looked to Jay. "I'll meet up with you after a couple of songs?" she suggested. Turning back to Seth she smiled sweetly at him, "How have you been?" Siva drew closer to him and she could feel her heart race when she got closer to him. Soon they would be close together and she had never been in this situation and she wanted it to be perfect.

Seth paid no attention to the guy she was with. He was glad that she said yes and he could wait to dance with her. Moving close to her he took her hands and laced them on his shoulders and rested his hands above her hips. Soon they were swaying to the music. "I've been good. How have you been since that night in the forest?" He was trying to remain calm and cool but on the inside his heart was racing has well.

Ok, Siva. This is no big deal. Just stay calm and follow his lead. When he grabbed her hands she took a deep breath and drew closer to him. Her heart was in her throat now and she was determined to look calm on the outside. " I have been ok." she relied. And now her mind was back to that night where they saw some unicorns in the forest. "To be honest I didn't even think you would be game for exploring the forest with me. But, I am glad you did." Siva smiled at him and continued dancing with him for who knows how long. She wasn't paying attention and all she knew at the time was that it was just him and her in the ballroom. Next thing she knew the music was picking up and she had no clue what to do and she was bummed that the songs didn't last longer.

He didn't see this coming. Jay was having great time and now he was tossed aside for some slytherin guy?! He tried not to think much of it but the thought of him dancing with Siva ticked him off. Jay walked off calmly and got some punch then went back to the dance floor to keep an eye on her. There he watched has they talked and she smiled. Jay knew Siva well and knew that she would probably forget all about him. Tossing his cup in a trash can he left the ball hoping this was the last that he would see of this guy. There was something about him that he didn't like.

Seth smiled back as he reminisced about the time in the forest as well. "To be honest I was just taken back by the invite. You had no clue who I am. You basically invited a complete stranger out to the forest with you at night. It was nice to have someone to go with. And it was an extra bonus to get to see a unicorn." Next thing he knew the songs had ended and they were still standing there in the middle of the floor surrounded by other. "You want to go for a walk?" Yes, he knew this was random but he didn't want his time with her to end and he was sick of the crowd. Backing away from her he held out his hand. "Just a quick walk around the entrance halls outside?" he suggested.
