It felt like time had flown by. Aurora could have sworn that just the other day the start of term began. Standing in the rather busy great hall Aurora was watching over everything making sure that everything was coming together. At the entrance to hall was a carpet the led down the center of the room until it reached the open space that was used for the dance floor. To the right and left of the black carpet was round tables with chairs for the students. Closer to the dance floor was one big table to the right that was for the staff. Looking up at the ceiling it was not its usual candles floating in the starry sky. Instead there were lighted pumpkins in addition to the candles. Has the band continued to set up some temporary music started to play has it was time for the students to arrive. On the very left of the room was a grand table that had punch and snacks on the side.
Letting out a brief sigh she was ready for the event to begin. This was the first dance since the school reopened. Aurora was nervous. She wanted everything to go perfectly. Trying her best not to let her mind wander on the negative she made her way to the table with the punch. Pouring her glass of the green punch she took a drink. Mmmm. Green apple. As she savored the taste she looked toward the open doors and watched has the first set of people began to enter.

Halloween wasn't his favorite but he was determined to be social. Spencer made his way to the great hall for the Halloween dance dressed has Dracula. Yeah, he figured it was lame but it was better than no costume at all. With a black cape and fake fangs he had dabbed a little fake blood at the corner of his mouth. The rest of his outfit was dressed down, he didn't really want to stress the stereotype of what a vampire looked like. He wore black slacks with a plain blue buttoned down top.
Entering the hall it was just starting to fill with rather excited students. Making his way to the table he needed a quick drink. It always helped him get his thoughts together. Taking a cup he poured himself a drink before stepping to the side. Surveying the room he took a few small sips. To his right was the Headmistress whom he thought was in a deep thought. Heading over he figured he would just say a quick hello. "Evening Miss Davis." he smiled.

So far so good. The room was filling up with students who were, hopefully, enjoying themselves. Aurora was dressed in a slender black dress with the sleeves coming over her hands. Her intentions were to be Elvira but with no cleavage. Knowing that no one would get this she sipped on her drink some more before coming back to the dance when she heard a familiar voice. Turning she saw that Mr. Spencer had joined her. Seeing him has a vampire made her smile. Aurora was glad the professor was taking part in the costume dress up. "Good evening Mr. Spencer." she replied turning toward him. Wanting to not spend the night just watching like a hawk she attempted conversation with a fellow coworker. "How has classes been so far? Hopefully good."

So tonight was the night. It was her first dance, ever. Isis was excited that she could dress up and socialize among her other classmates. Dressed in a simple baby blue dress she slipped on her pink glittery wings. She knew it was dumb but she liked fairies. They were cute. Well the imaginary fairies were cute, really life, not so much. Making her way down to the ballroom she was trying her best not to hit anyone with her wings. "Sorry." she apologized has she hit some random guy in the back of the head. Walking quickly she stepped through the door to the great hall. Her face lit up. She loved every bit of Halloween. The costumes, the candy, the decorations. Skipping over to the food table she grabbed a punch and some candy, skittles to be exact. For now she wanted to watch the festivities.

Seeing her smile and reply made him want to get to know her more. The headmistress was a bit of a mystery. And he did always wonder how she came to get the job. Not that he was jealous but he really did wonder what made her take on the challenge of getting the school reopened. Irregardless he was glad that she did. He had missed Hogwarts and was glad to see that someone else felt that the school should be reopened. Now she was facing him asking how his classes had been so far. "They have been good." he nodded. They were great actually. Not much trouble from students despite being under staffed. "Any news of potential professors?" H wasn't sure if it was ok to ask but he gave it a shot. He really did hope that there would be some other people interested in teaching.
