Heels clicking the floor filled the hall. Aurora was on her way to the ball. She wanted to make sure that everything was set up. Wearing a yellow dress that reached her knees she walked the halls. A black ribbon hung around her waist to accent it and to finish the outfit was dark blue heels. Rounding the corner the outdoor hall was decorated in pastel streamers which lead you to the outdoor ballroom. The area was very flat and was covered with a dance floor and and small area to the side for the tables and snacks. Seeing everything in place she turned to see the start of the dance has students poured in. Smiling she walked over to a table for the professors.

Dressed in black jeans and a plain blue dress shirt James made his way to the dance. He knew that nothing interesting would happen but he figured he would show his face before heading out anywhere else for the evening. Arriving he looked around the room that was beginning to fill with students. Off to the side he saw the other professors and the headmistress. Walking over he greeted a few ending with the headmistress. "Good evening headmistress." he smiled. "Nice night isn't." He felt dumb saying it but he couldn't help but be nervous.

Excitement flowed through Siva's veins! Wearing a pink dress that reached her knees She looked over herself in the mirror. Wearing silver shoes with her hair down in curls she made sure the flower was placed perfectly in her hair. Leaving the dorm she made her way to the ball. Knowing Jay she knew that she would beat him. He always knew how to wait until the last minute. Making her way she hoped that there was someone there to talk to while she waited. Walking into the room she looking around. So far there was no one that she recognized. Frowning a little she kept looking around, hopefully she wouldn't wait too long!

Jay was quite nervous. His first dance with Siva. He had been waited for this for quite some time. Dressed in dark skinny jeans he put on a pair of black sneakers. Looking at the time he knew that Siva would already be there at the dance. Looking at himself in the mirror he made sure that his black skeleton shirt didn't look dirty. Running his hand through his hair he took a deep breath the headed out. Walking quickly to the dance. Walking in the room that was beginning to fill he looked around for his date. Spotting her he stopped for a moment. She was looking around but she hadn't seen him yet. She looked absolutely amazing. Walking up he still could feel the butterflies swarming in his stomach. "Hey. You look great." he smiled has he walked up .

Grabbing a drink Aurora stood around the table smiling at the other professors that she passed. To be honest she was a little sad that she didn't have any company. She was finding it a little hard to make friends. Which sounds very silly to her but it was true. She lost contact with friends from the past and now she felt like she was back to square one. Just has she was getting a little into her deep thought she heard a voice. Turning she saw one of her professors, Mr. Spencer. "Good evening Mr. Spencer." she replied in her professional manner. "Yes, it is a lovely evening." she smiled. Finally some sort of conversation for the night. Thinking of something to say she thought of only one thing to talk about. "How are you classes so far this semester?" she asked. Hopefully she didn't sound that she was coming off has a business only kind of girl.

Standing there glad to be talking to her James was happy that she answered and that she was interested in talking to him. "So far so good." he replied with a smile. He could still feel his nerves not giving in to being shaky. Looking around the room memories filled his mind about his days back at Hogwarts before it closed. Seeing the kids smiling and having a good time he was glad for the chance that him and other adults and parents were giving them. Coming back into the conversation that he was in with the headmistress he turned to her looking at how pretty she was. "Would you like to dance?" he asked without really thinking. Suddenly it hit him. "I mean...is that ok to even ask?" he thought out loud. Stopping himself again he decided to stand in silence to hear the damage.

"Thanks." she said trying not to blush from the complement. She was starting to feel a little nervous now. It had just dawn on her that she was going to the school dance with her best friend. Sometimes she did feel a little weird that they were dating but at the same time it just felt right. Like all the pieces finally fell together for the both of them. Hearing the music she light up. "Hey, lets get to the dance floor!" she squealed with excited. Grabbing his hand she walked rather quickly to the dance floor with him. She couldn't wait to just rock out! Reaching the floor she starting dancing with Jay.

Jay smiled has he gladly accepted the dance offer. Walking with her he was beginning to calm down. This wasn't so bad. After all this was Siva, the girl he had known for years . What has really changed between them. Well, except for the fact that they were dating. Reaching the floor he started dancing with Siva. To him it seemed like they were the only two in the whole place. A couple of fast songs past before a nice slow tune came on. Grabbing Siva's hand he spun her around before pulling her close. Resting his hands on her hips he began to sway with her to the music.

She was glad that he was happy with how things were going for him. She simple smiled has he talked then looked around. Looking at him she could see that he might be a little nervous. She would have to get used to that you know. People thinking about her in a position of power and trying to impress her or something like that. Taking a brief look around with Professor Spencer she saw the smiles and the excitement. Just for a moment she thought back to one of her dances where she danced with friends since she never had a date. Would you like to dance?Hearing those words seemed to stop everything in the background. The music, laughter, talking all seemed to stop has she turned to Mr. Spencer. Her heart was racing has her brain was thinking hard. She she accept? Would it seem inappropriate? Why would it matter? "Um..." she started after he stop talking. "I'd like that!" she replied with a smile. "Yes, lets dance." she confirmed again has she put her drink down. Waiting for him she was hoping that the tune would change. She was only good at the slow dances.

James Spencer was doomed! He foolishly asked the Headmistress, his boss, to dance. Waiting for the uncomfortable jesters and rejection he was thinking of how he would have to leave and find another job just because he asked for a dance. Looking to her he was at least take this let down looking at the Headmistress. Hearing her reply he was a bit shocked. Smirking a little he was glad that it was a yes. This would mean that he wasn't in trouble, right? Setting down his drink he felt like he was a student again asking a girl to the dance. It had been so long he was glad to be getting back in the swing of things. Holding out his hand he waited for hers has the song went from one slow song to the next. Reaching to floor he took his right hand and placed it gentle on her waist and the left was left to the side of them. He decided to go waltzing style since they didn't know each other too well. Has he started to dance around in a circle he smiled has he was glad to not get rejected.

Taking his hand she walked to the floor with him. Gliding across the floor she could feel her stomach churn a little she grew nervous. Taking his hand she rest the other on his shoulder. Spinning in circles she was getting even more nervous has she was trying not to mess up or step on his feet. Going round and round she looked him in the eyes brief before looking away and biting her lower lip. At the moment she could only saw that she was smitten and a bit taken by surprised. She was showing her vulnerable side. Right there for everyone to see. Composing her self has they circled the floor in one wide square placing she was trying to think of what to say. Her mind was blank. Should she just enjoy the silence? Was the silence awkward for them? "So..what compelled you to ask me to dance?" she asked, curious of course. She has never been asked to dance. She knew it was because of her love for books that consumed so much of her in her school years. But still, this was nice and...different.

Has they began to circle the floor he was completely unaware of everyone else. He just couldn't stop looking at Aurora. Keeping a smile to his face he tried not to be too obvious with his sudden crush. Hearing her speak he knew that he would have to answer this question eventually. "I just couldn't help myself." he replied with a smirk. He wanted to say more but he that he would probably be considered out of line.
