Laila climbed the many steps up to the olwery where she pulled out a letter from inside her robes and attached it to the leg of one of the school owls. She was writing to her mother, although she doubted that she would get a response. Laila whispered to the owl the instructions on how to find her mother and let it go. She watched the bird soar high up into the sky and fly away. She smiled half-heartedly at the creature before leaning up against one of the walls to think.
After several moments Laila's ears perked up; she thought she could hear music. Maybe it was just her imagination but Laila liked the noise. It was soft and melodic. Laila stepped away from the wall and started to dance slowly in time with the imaginary music.

Seth wasn't glad to be staying at Hogwarts over the term break but he had no choice. So, while he had some extra time to himself he wrote a quick note to his parents and made his way to the Owlery. He always hated climbing the steps so he mumbled under his breath has he reached the top. Sighing he walked in to notice that some girl was in there dancing to no music.
With a puzzled look on his face he stood in the door way staring. "Ahem!" Clearing his throat he waited to see whether the girl had heard him.

Laila looked up suddenly and noticed a boy standing there watching her. She realised it was Seth Mackenzie; the boy in Jordan's year whom Jordan did not like. "Sorry," she mumbled. She could feel her cheeks flushing bright pink.

Seth chuckled has it was amusing to see the look on her face when she noticed him. Looking around the room he noticed that she was indeed alone. Smirking he walked in and stood in the middle where him and Jordan once had words and fists. Holding out his arm for his owl Annie to perch on he spoke, "So, were you expecting someone?"

Laila shook her head, having lost her voice momentarily. After a moment or two she said, "I was just writing to family." she fell quiet again, admiring Seth's owl, "She's gogeous," she added, gesturing at the owl, "Where did you get her?" Laila had always wanted an owl but had never really gotten around to having a look for one.

"Thanks." he replied has he looked at the owl land. He spoke has if he didn't like her. "My parents got her from the shop in diagon alley." he answered the question has he walked over to the window. Giving Annie the instructions to where the letter should go he watched has the owl took off. "So, are you still dating Jordan after what he did?" he coldly asked. Turning back to face her he waited for an answer has he folded his arms.

"What do you mean?" Laila asked, feeling her presence was not wanted, "What did he do?"

Seth smirked, "First he hit on Siva during the trip to Hogsmeade. And when I confronted him, he of course denied it. When I told him that I didn't believe him, being the stupid guy that he is, he tried to fight me." He could careless if she believed him or not. He just knew that this piece of information would bother her, how could it not?

Laila frowned, "What do you mean he hit on Siva? He and Siva are friends, they were probably just hanging out." It was then that she registered that he'd said they'd fought. A look of horror crossed Laila's face. Surely Jordan would've mentioned to her if they'd fought, Seth had to be lying.

Rolling his eyes he stood back up. "Yeah, you believe that. Whatever helps you sleep at night." he replied. "Siva might not be willing to admit it but I know what he was really after. Do you really think that he really wants to date someone younger than him?" he questioned.
