Nervous and anxious, two things that could describe Jordan at the moment. He had sent a letter to Laila asking her to meet him on the lawns. He had been waiting for this day for a while now. He didn't know if this counted as a first date but, it was the first time out together alone, well for this term. Just the two of them. He figured they could just walk around on the school grounds for a while.
He waited on the lawns for her in the late afternoon. He had changed into his black jeans and his baby blue t-shirt with a pair of black shoes on. He looked down at the ground kicking away some dirt has he waited.

Laila had on a knee length blue skirt and a black tank top as she made her way to the lawns to meet Jordan. He'd suggested they go for a walk and she was more than happy to oblige. She approached him happily, smiling from ear to ear as she did so.

Has Jordan looked at the ground he heard someone approach. He looked up to see Laila walking his way. He smiled has she walked up to him, "Hey. You look nice." he said nervously has he lifted his arm to scratch the back of his head. He spent most of the day trying to get a song out of his head. Just has she walked up he could hear it starting again. It was Blink 182's First Date, hopefully his would be better.

Jordan smiled has Laila blushed, he liked that look on her face. "Thanks." he smirked at her compliment. Now what to do? He honestly didn't have a plan, he just wanted to spend some time with her. "How about...." he started has he walked closer to her and grabbed her hand. "....We just walk around....for now." he suggested. Hopefully she wouldn't be too upset for not having a plan.

"Alright," as Jordan took Laila's hand she felt a set of shivers run down her spine and they started walking.

Jordan smiled and began to walk with Laila has he held her hand. While he walked he tried to think of something to say but, his mind was blank. He bit his lip has he tried to think hard.

Jordan smiled glad that the awkward silence was over. "Mines in October. The 21st to be exact." he quietly replied. "And you?"

"28th of January," Laila said. At least he was only a few months older than her. Laila opened her mouth to say something again, but realised she had nothing to say.

Again there was another silence, has they walked the quiet grounds. "So..." he started then bit his lip, thinking hard. "...how was your break?" he asked. Once he said it he was quite sure that he had asked her before. "How...your family?" he randomly asked trying to cover up the repeat question. Then he wondered if she had ever told them about him.

Laila shrugged. She wasn't too keen on talking about her family, but decided she might as well share with Jordan, "Well dad disappeared when I was three," she started, "so I havn't seen him since then. And mum..." Laila trailed off, "...well my mum's usually pretty busy. I didn't get to see her much over the break. She was, however, delighted that I'd found a boyfriend." Laila smiled at Jordan, "She didn't think any of the guys would be into someone like me." Laila confessed. Shrugging this memory off she asked, "How about yours?"

Jordan was interested in hearing about her family, only to find out that there wasn't much to tell. And he was quite shocked to here what her mom thought. "I'm sorry." he replied. Guess he didn't think that someone's home life wasn't good, until now. He looked to the ground, he felt bad for even bringing the subject up. "Well, I guess my break was ok. And they were surprised to hear about you." he answered. "Guess they didn't think I had the guts." he shrugged. He stopped walking to observe where they were. They were on a small hill that faced the lake and he noticed that it was a little darker than before.

As Jordan came to a sudden stopped she looked around and noticed that they were at a part of the grounds that Laila had never been to before. The sun was slowly setting and Laila looked towards Jordan. "I missed you," Laila said, "during the break."

Letting go of her hand he wrapped his left hand around her waist and used the right to get his hair out of his face. "I missed you too." he replied has he pulled her closer.
