[Jordan Lane]

Jordan walked into the common room trying to walk straight. He could still feel the effect of the Jelly Legs Jinx that Seth had practiced on him. He wished that they didn't have to actually practice on each other but at least he got to cast the Jinx has well. He plopped down on the couch with a sigh. Now that his classes were over with he was ready to kick back and relax, at least until his legs felt better. He rummaged through his bag looking for a book to read to kill the time.

[Amy Lawrence]

Amy walked into the common room, not noticing Jordan, she carried her cat gracefully. Her belongings were already in her room, she checked to make sure, but she was more worried about Millie than her wand, books, or anything of the sort. She stroke the purring cat with her slender hand while gazing into the fire, thinking about her family.

[Jordan Lane]

Jordan watched the girl walk in with her cat. At first he thought she had seen him but apparently not, she sat and stared at the fire. For a minute he thought about whether or not he should say something or not. Not wanting to just sit and stare at her he decided to speak up. "Ahem, hi." he said awkwardly.

[Amy Lawrence]

Amy was startled a little and looked at the boy. "Hi, sorry I didn't notice you," Amy exclaimed, a little nervous. They sat a while in silence, Amy not knowing what to say to him. She found the words in her mouth and bluntly stated"I'm Amy."

[Jordan Lane]

"Sorry." he replied after seeing her give him a startled look. "I didn't mean to scare you." he explained yet it was still kind of funny but he didn't laugh. "I'm Jordan."
"Are you new here?" he asked, he had never seen her around in the castle.

[Amy Lawrence]

"Yeah." She replied. She blushed bright red, noticing that she just made a fool of herself in front of him. She stroked her sleeping cat as it purred with every breath. She sighed in harmony of the cat's breath. Amy took our some of her notes from her classes that day. She skimmed through them and gave another sigh. "I tell you, being a half-blood must make you half-dumb too," Amy sighed as she sort of chuckled to herself.[/font]

Amy wasn't afraid to admit that she was a half-blood. After all, nobody had a perfect life. So what that her dad rejected the idea of her being a witch, or even going to Hogwarts Bellatrix. So what if her other sister would never talk to her again. And so what if only her mom and her brother were on her side. All she cared about was that she always had a chance every year to get away from it all, even if she still did miss them. [/font]

[Jordan Lane]

"Being half-blood doesn't make you half dumb." he said in a slightly amused way. "It just takes a while to get use to it. Your not going to know everything." he explained. "And the pure bloods aren't better either." he stated. "We are all pretty much on the same level or at least thats how I see it."

It was then he noticed the cat in her lap. It was his second year and he still didn't get an owl like he wanted. "Whats your cats name?"

[Amy Lawrence]

Amy just rolled her eyes, not agreeing with his statement. She then notice that he questioned about her cat. "Millie," she replied. "I've only had her for about a year now, got her on my tenth birthday." She smiled at the cat, happy that she was aloud, it was the only piece of her family that she brought. [/font]

"My dad just thought this was the ugliest cat that he'd ever seen when I chose her out." The cat was all white, not a single mark, until you looked at her face. She had a perfect brown circle over her left eye, and a little tip of brown on her tail. The only marks that made the cat hideous to a few and unique to others. But Amy really chose the cat out because she felt that it was different like the other ones from the litter not looking like any of the white cats, or any of the brown. "Don't you have a pet cat? A rat? Or an owl maybe?" she questioned, hoping that he did so she didn't feel like she was boasting. [/font]

Laila entered the commonroom, exhausted after her first full day at Hogwarts Bellatrix. She found smiled to both Jordan and Amy before collapsing into a seat by the fire.
"Gorgeous cat," Laila said to Amy, I brought mine too, but he's probably upstairs sleeping."

[Amy Lawrence]

"Thank you," Amy said as she stroked her sleeping cat lovingly. Amy looked at Jordan and then at Laila. "Is this is your first year umm...um...I'm sorry I didn't catch your name." Amy exclaimed. [/font]

"Forgive me, I'm Laila and yeah, i'm a first year. Pretty exciting, don't you think?" Laila smiled at Jordan, "So you guys going to the dance later?"

[Amy Lawrence]

Amy smiled and nodded her head. She looked at the clock as it read eleven twenty. She sighed, "Excuse me, but I think I'll get ready for the dance now, it was nice meeting you Jordan and Laila," she said with a smile as she carried her cat up to the girls dormitory.

[Jordan Lane]

"Nice to meet you too Amy." Jordan replied politely. At the time Jordan was still thinking about going to the dance. He figured he might as well since everyone else is.
