Needing To Send A Letter

Siva folded up the letter that she had just written to her aunt and uncle. At the beginning of every term she wrote to them just to let them know that she was ok. She put on a hoodie and hufflepuff gloves and scarf and left for the Owlery. She ran up the steps as fast has she could trying to get out of the cold has soon has possible. Once she reached the top she walked in. Most of the owls were awake and sitting in their little cupboards. She stood in the middle of the room looking for an owl that didn't look too tired to deliver her mail.

It wasn't unlikely to see Ruby up at this time. She loved mornings even though she never really knew why. But at least she had a purpose for being up this time. She was on her way to the Owlery. She walked directly into someone. "Oh, I'm so sorry." she apologized immediately.

Siva had finally noticed a bird that looked like it was ready for a trip when she was almost knocked over. Falling back a little, but not falling down, she turned to see a younger girl. "Its ok." she replied. She looked around for the letter that she had written that flew out of her hand. "Have you seen my letter?"

[Ruby Harris]

Ruby looked around on the ground for her letter. She figured it was the least she could do. "Found it!" she said after a few minutes of searching. She bent down and picked it up. "Here." she said handing it to her. "And again sorry. I'm Ruby." she said extending her hand.

"Thanks." she smiled has she grabbed the letter. "I'm Siva." she said shaking her hand. "And you don't have to apologize. It was an accident." she stated. She took a minute to straighten up and then she found the owl she wanted. She walked up to it and smiled has she tied the letter to the owl. There was no need to tell it where to go since she had used the same owl for two years now. Once it took of she turned to Ruby, "Sending a letter to you parents?" she questioned.

[Ruby Harris]

"Yeah, I promised them I would." she replied has she looked around the owls. "This is my first time doing this so I'm a bit confused at exactly how to do this." she stated. She wasn't sure what she was looking for in an owl. Obviously she wanted one that was awake. She stood looking around at them with a confused look on her face.

[Siva Tucker]

Siva looked around for another owl, once she found one she held her arm out and whistled for it to come to her. The owl flew down and landed on her arm. "Just tell the owl where it is going, like if it was to go to London then say so. Then tie the letter to its foot and the letter should get there!" she explained.

[Ruby Harris]

Ruby walked up and tied the letter to the owls leg, "To London." she said softly. She hoped that the owl would get the letter to the right place.

[Siva Tucker]

The owl took off after the girl had gave it the instructions. Siva smiled back at Ruby. "This your first time in the Owlery?"

[Ruby Harris]

"Uh, yeah." she replied. 'Actually this is the first time I've been close to owls." she confessed. "My parents didn't want to get my one of my own. Well, not yet." she added.

[Siva Tucker]

"Really? Why?" Siva asked curiously. From the way it sounded her parents were probably muggles and not use to animals.

[Ruby Harris]

"They have never really had a house pet." she replied. "I guess they just need time to get use to it." she laughed.

[Siva Tucker]

Siva gave a small laugh when Ruby did. "So you don't have any older siblings here?" she asked.

"No, I'm an only child." she replied. "Do you have your own owl?"

[Siva Tucker]

"I'm an only child has well." Siva replied with a smile. "I don't have my own owl yet. Hopefully I'll get one next year."
