Laila returned to the common room after her first day back and found she was rather exhausted. She put her things up in her dorm (passing Ruby as she did so) and took a seat by the window. She looked over the grounds and realised she could see where her and Jordan had been merely hours ago. She closed her eyes as a small smile crossed her face as she remembered the feeling of being so close to Jordan.

After sitting up in the dorm for a good while Ruby made her way down to the common room. She noticed Laila sitting by the window. She was feeling nervous but she wasn't going to stop on that alone. She walked up to her slowly while she one hand in the other. Then she put them by her side has she walked up to her, "Hi." she said smiling nervously. "Um, can we talk?" she asked.

Laila looked around and saw Ruby looking at her, she seemed a little nervous. "Hey," Laila replied, feeling the awkward tension between them, "Sure, what's up?"

Ruby was relieved that she was willing to talk to her. She wasn't sure that she deserved her kindness. "I just wanted to say, I'm sorry." she apologized. "About what I said, last term. I was being very rude and you didn't derseve it." she explained.

"Good." she nodded smiling. "So, how have you been?" she asked. She knew that this would be weird for a while. She just hoped that Laila had really meant what she said about being friends.

"Yeah actually." she said nodding. "I'm going with Jay." she informed has she smiled a little. Then she had a thought, "I just wish I could have gone to Hogsmeade with him." she said randomly.

"Oh, that's great," Laila said, happy that Ruby had moved on from Jordan. "It would've been great to have gone to Hogsmeade with Jordan too. But he brought me back this big bag of sweets, would you like one?"
